FALL 2021
Programs Utilized | Maya, Substance Painter, XGen Interactive Grooming
The first step to creating a self-portrait was to create a 3D photometric before moving into Maya and retopologizing the model. Once the foundation of the bust was created, the focus turned to identifying features, such as eye shape, bridge of the nose, lips, and ears. Moving into Substance Painter, a skin displacement map was utilized to create skin pores and wrinkles before adding a base skin tone and painted red, yellow, and blue undertones. Further adding to the realism to the skin, sun damage and freckles were scattered throughout, before moving on to model the hair. The hair was generated with Maya's XGen Interactive Grooming to recreate the most accurate and realistic hairstyle.
